Compliance in the United States has multiple meanings. The definition depends on if you are trying to demonstrate compliance to obtain a building permit, gain access to different funding (grants or incentives), or obtain access to participate in a green building rating systems. Some of the compliance paths are:
- Local or state building codes, which may or may not point to national or international standards
- The USGBC’s family of LEED rating systems
- Requirements for utility rebates, tax credits, other federal incentives and state energy trust programs for renewable energy and sustainable strategies
- Alignment with the Architecture 2030 Challenge carbon dioxide emission reduction targets
IES’s software is ASHRAE 140-2004 compliant and provides a range of tools that address various aspects of the LEED rating systems and the Architecture 2030 Challenge. More detailed information will be provided on the website in the near future.
